In 2025, the top spot in the world of burgers will still be held by Spain. The Hundred Burgers brand, with several locations in Madrid and Valencia, has been named the best burger joint on the planet for the second year in a row by The World's Best Burgers, the international guide that ranks the top 25 burger joints worldwide. This achievement confirms its status as an absolute benchmark in quality fast food.

A global ranking and a challenge between titans

The recognition comes from a community of connoisseurs who tasted 900 burgers in 63 countries, selecting only the best for the 2025 ranking. Sharing the podium with Hundred Burgers are the American Pizza Loves Emily (New York) and the Brazilian Holy Burger (San Paolo), while two other Spanish names—Soul Coffee in Valencia and Briochef in Madrid—stand out in tenth and seventeenth place, respectively. This result also confirms Spain as one of the new world capitals of signature fast food.

A dream born from a trip to New York

The story of Hundred Burgers is an inspiring one. It all began in 2017, when Alex González-Urbón and Ezequiel Maldjian, two friends united by a boundless passion for hamburgers, decided to travel to New York with a crazy idea: to eat the 15 best hamburgers in the city in just four days. They documented their adventure on Instagram and, without knowing it, started something much bigger. What was supposed to be a bit of fun soon became a mission. Over the next three years, they traveled the world, visiting 22 countries and tasting over 300 burgers. With every bite, they gathered inspiration, ideas, and insights. Eventually, they decided to stop and create a restaurant that would encapsulate all that knowledge: Hundred Burgers was born, a simple burger joint that opened in Valencia in 2020 but is destined for international acclaim.

A brand built on craftsmanship

From the start, Alex and Ezequiel have been all about one thing: quality craftsmanship. They pick the animals and the best cuts themselves, study the balance between meat and fat, and grind the fresh meat every day to get juicy, uneven burgers, just the way they should be. They don't want industrial uniformity: Every animal is a world unto itself,” they proudly declared to 7Canibales, and every burger is a unique experience.”Even the bread deserves special attention. After a year of testing, they developed a demi-brioche with notes of pain-au-lait, kneaded and baked every morning in the brand's laboratories. Every element of the sandwich is designed to enhance the others, creating a balance between softness, flavor, and texture that makes all the difference.

An award that also brings responsibility

The World's Best Burgers award is not just seen as a medal, but as a responsibility. It is the result of years of sacrifice and commitment from our entire team,” says González-Urbón. Maldjian adds emotionally:Some guided tours of Valencia stop in front of our restaurant and tell tourists that the best burger in the world is made here. It's an indescribable feeling." Today, Hundred Burgers has four locations in Valencia and three in Madrid, all different but united by the same spirit. The most recommended? The one on Calle San Vicente Mártir, a stone's throw from a beautiful university library. The service is completed by delivery via Glovo and pick-up at the restaurant.
