Between elegance and altitude: the dual soul of Brandini
The Langa del Barolo is never a uniform territory. Each hill changes its voice, each slope has its own accent, each municipality has its own recognizable character. La Morra, one of the eleven DOCG areas, is the one that most embodies a natural idea of elegance: here the wines have more relaxed tannins, clear aromas, characterized by a softer rhythm than the severe geometries of Serralunga or the rougher energy of Monforte. The mosaic of clay, limestone, and sand that makes up the soil contributes to fruity and floral fragrances, while the climate—suspended between the Alps and the Mediterranean—guarantees biodiversity and vigor, offering a different harvest every year, capable of recounting a living and changing territory.

It is in this setting that Agricola Brandini was born, a winery that bears the name of the subzone of La Morra that hosts it. Its identity is the result of a family journey that began in 2007, when Serena and Giovanna Bagnasco, then still students, were given the opportunity by their father to start experiencing the business from the inside. "We were young, we didn't imagine that this would become our future," they say. Since 2010, they have been running the estate with a personal and contemporary vision, building a coherent project step by step. "Our family bought the property," says Giovanna, "to put down roots in a place whose enormous potential we saw right away."

From the initial three hectares, the Brandini winery now cultivates a total of 22 hectares, spread across Langhe, Roero, and Alta Langa, complementary territories that define the dual soul of the winery. The production philosophy starts with organic farming, practiced from the beginning, and continues in the cellar with slow fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks, choices that preserve the natural aromas of the grapes. The reds are then aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, a refinement that accompanies the wine without overpowering it. Nebbiolo is the beating heart of the winery, "the grape variety we love most," say the sisters. "After a year in the vineyard and four in the cellar, Barolo expresses a unique finesse in La Morra, enjoyable from its early years."
In 2014, with the opening of the farmhouse next to the winery, Brandini found an additional space to welcome guests, allowing them to share their history and their work with visitors from all over the world.

From Barolo to Alta Langa: wines that tell the story of a living territory. The tastings
Brandini's labels embody this dual identity: on the one hand, Barolo, interpreted through different crus that offer nuanced interpretations of the character of La Morra; on the other, the three versions of Alta Langa millesimato, born in a higher, wooded, and windy territory, ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Alta Langa Brut, produced since the 2010 harvest from vineyards at an altitude of about 600 meters, is a fresh and vertical sparkling wine, with notes of slightly candied fruit and floral notes, a fine perlage, and a creaminess derived from long aging on the lees.

Barolo R56, on the other hand, comes from the cru that surrounds the winery: a particular microclimate and clayey-sandy soils that produce an elegant and intense Nebbiolo, austere but harmonious, with aromas of red fruits and roses and finely chiseled tannins. Aging in large Slavonian oak barrels amplifies its finesse, maintaining balance and freshness. Alongside these flagship labels, Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba complete the portrait of the territory with immediacy and sincerity.

Brandini operates on a fine line that combines tradition and verticality. "La Morra is the most delicate municipality in Barolo," explains Serena, "the soil favors aroma and finesse, and the climate, thanks to its position between the Alps and the Mediterranean, produces vigorous grapes." Alta Langa, on the other hand, represents their original soul: "We were born and raised in Alta Langa," summarizes Giovanna. Two territories, two expressions, one philosophy. "Our winery," concludes Serena, "combines two complementary souls: red and sparkling, tradition and verticality. Everything we do is linked by the same thread of care and transparency."

Serena and Giovanna Bagnasco tell the story of their territory through consistent, distinctive, and authentic wines. Among the hills of Piedmont, where tradition and landscape set the pace, Brandini transforms each harvest into a sensory journey that combines roots, care, and contemporary vision.
