The revolution in home-delivered food by Perdomo, Press, and Piras
A wave of gastronomic innovation is about to sweep through Milan: ROC – Rosticceria Origine Contraste, the pioneering format of “unusual delivery,” is reopening its doors on June 3. Conceived by the brilliant minds of Matias Perdomo, Simon Press, and Thomas Piras, this project is not just a comeback, but a true metamorphosis. ROC returns to the Milanese scene with a new look, a greener soul, and a menu that promises to redefine the concept of accessible luxury at home.

On the tenth anniversary of Contraste, Uruguayan Michelin-starred chef Matias Perdomo reopens the doors of his pop-inspired creative laboratory. The goal? To offer a high-end culinary experience that is now more diverse than ever, appealing to a wide audience. Since its debut in 2020, in the midst of the food delivery boom, ROC has stood out for its unconventional approach. This is not your usual “order and enjoy” service, but an invitation to slow down and savor your meal. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance, allowing customers to compose their ideal meal with complete freedom.

From comfort zone to reinvented conviviality
Matias Perdomo explains ROC's new vision as follows: "Reigniting the ROC workshop's stoves in 2025 takes on a profoundly new meaning, the result of our experience and the evolution of our customers' needs. While ROC started out as a gastronomic refuge and a source of support for our employees during a difficult period, today it has become a facilitator of everyday life. For those who, despite returning to social life, do not want to give up the pleasure of a gourmet meal or rediscovering the conviviality of home cooking, even if they have little time or skill in the kitchen."

ROC's revamped menu is tangible proof of its focus on an increasingly informed and demanding clientele. In addition to options designed for those who follow a vegetarian diet or have specific intolerances—such as the refreshing spring salad, the refined cauliflower gratin with umeboshi, and the delicate beetroot and mimosa tartare—there are also richer and more indulgent creations. The renowned ROC lasagna, the seductive beef and chorizo tartare, the red mullet with saffron and fennel, and the suckling pig with almonds and lavender are just some of the dishes that promise an unforgettable taste experience. And to finish off in style, the iconic rose cake, a true bridge between the tradition of Contraste and the innovation of ROC, now emblematic of Chef Perdomo's cuisine, is always available for purchase online.

A comprehensive green commitment
ROC goes beyond being a high-end culinary service, embracing a philosophy that makes it a bastion of sustainability. ROC's green soul is a common thread that ties together every step of its operations: from the meticulous preparation of dishes to their packaging and final delivery. This ethic is clearly evident in the choice to use single portions, a conscious decision to eliminate waste. The ingredients, always fresh, are expertly prepared by ROC and require only quick reheating at the customer's home, a system that drastically reduces energy consumption for everyone. Even the packaging has been designed to be environmentally friendly, with fully recyclable solutions that use biodegradable and heat-sealed plastics. And to close the circle of environmental responsibility, ROC relies exclusively on a fleet of electric vehicles for deliveries, ensuring an almost zero ecological impact and offering its customers the peace of mind of a service that respects nature in every way.
