Expansion plan in Europe and the Latin American food scene, but new closures in the U.S.: with this in mind, Salt Bae is preparing for several changes. We summarize them for you here.
The News
It had only been open for 3 years, but it looks like it will close for good: Salt Bae'sNusr-Et steakhouse in Las Vegas is expected to stop soon (at the time of writing, the date of the final service is not yet known). Actually, for the Turkish butcher -who rose to fame in 2017 thanks to the scenic gesture of salting meat- this is not the only setback in the US: recent cases are, for example, the sudden stop of the hamburger place in New York City, not to mention the historic Nusr-Et (also in NY), which collapsed less than a year ago with related controversy over prices, service and employees.

Las Vegas appears, then, to be the latest tile in a domino effect that is investing its carnivorous empire in the United States. For the rest of the restaurants, the practice remains the same: serving upscale ingredients with great aesthetic impact, in a fashionable environment with related musical entertainment. Rather uniform are the prices, placed on the high end; the Las Vegas location offered, like others, 24-carat gold leaf-covered steaks at 1,700 euros, golden baklava and truffle mac and cheese. Cost of service? For live table cutting of the meat, performed by Salt Bae himself, it comes close to an additional 600 euros.

On the other hand, the meat entrepreneur aims to expand into the Latin American market with a location in Mexico City, coming just this year, and into Europe, with new outposts in Rome, Milan and Ibiza. “Finally today we signed to open our restaurant at the Casa Brera Hotel in Milan. Congratulations, Mr. Giuseppe Statuto: we will do a great job together," he says in a newly posted Instagram reel, alluding to the opening of his first Italian restaurant. The video shows the contract signing live, after months of research to find the right location and related media assumptions about the location. Address? Now we can say for sure: Piazza S.Marco,3, corner Vicolo Piero Manzoni, inside the well-known hotel with an extensive restaurant project already underway. We will keep you updated on the menu!
