The news

José Andrés, the celebrity chef who has already delighted us with his cuisine and captivated us with his humanitarian efforts, is now preparing to make his mark in the world of the hotel industry as well. It has been announced that the José Andrés Group will open a luxury hotel, The Bazaar House by José Andrés, in the heart of Georgetown, Washington, D.C., slated for 2027. An ambitious project, reveals the washingtonian on its website, which will include not only 67 elegant rooms, but also a private club on the penthouse, event spaces, a spa and, of course, a series of bars and restaurants that reflect the chef's gastronomic philosophy.

It is hardly a surprise that such an eclectic and visionary chef would also want to bring his creativity to the world of hospitality. After all, food has always been the beating heart of his projects, as pointed out by José Andrés Group CEO Sam Bakhshandehpour: “The soul of hotels are the restaurants, the bars, and the dining experience. It used to be the rooms that made the difference." This concept of hospitality, where the dining experience becomes central, is what you will be able to experience at Bazaar House, which promises to offer a 360-degree sensory adventure.

Another highlight will be the Bazaar Club, an exclusive private club that will grant members unique privileges and benefits. The highlight? A signature restaurant overlooking Georgetown, which promises to be the capital's new epicenter of gastronomic luxury. Although specific details about the food and beverage concepts have not yet been revealed, we can already imagine a maniacal focus on quality and innovation, following in the wake of the successes of the many restaurants the José Andrés Group has already opened in the United States and internationally.

The hotel will be the result of a partnership with Thor Equities, a global development company whose portfolio includes such prestigious brands as the Ritz-Carlton and the Four Seasons. Its location at 3000 M St. NW took seven years of negotiations to obtain the necessary local approvals, but the result promises to live up to expectations. This project represents a new stage in the expansion journey of the José Andrés Group, which is increasingly focusing on the hotel sector, as already demonstrated with the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, where it all started with the first Bazaar.

This expansion comes after a significant capital injection from RockCreek, an investment firm with more than $17 billion under management, which has given new impetus to the group's growth plans. In a world where the hospitality industry is evolving, Bakhshandehpour and Andrés seem to have grasped the essence of change: modern hotels must offer unique and unforgettable experiences, where food becomes the protagonist and catalyst. We just have to wait until 2027 to find out if The Bazaar House by José Andrés will indeed be the last frontier of luxury in Georgetown. In the meantime, we can dream of dining under the stars, sipping sophisticated cocktails in an environment that blends contemporary design and futuristic vision, all wrapped in the unmistakable touch of José Andrés.
