The accessible concept of The Halfway At Kineton seems to have won over the local clientele (and beyond): former head chef Nathan Eades, previously active in a fine dining establishment, is now focusing on this inn with simple and tasty dishes.

The story
It's only been a year, but Nathan Eades and Liam Goff seem to have already realized their dream: offering diners an "affordable luxury" venue. Since they opened The Halfway At Kineton, their mantra has consistently been: "Make guests look forward to coming back before they've even finished their last bite." In the 17th-century rural inn, modeled after ancient pubs in the Cotswolds hills, the two friends and business partners wanted to keep things simple, focusing on serving only the highest quality, seasonal, and local products - all with the enthusiasm of managing an informal yet meticulously cared-for establishment.
The uniqueness? Nathan and Liam decided to embark on this adventure after a career spent in award-winning fine dining kitchens. Today, their experiences reflect on the menu of the Kineton village pub: "I couldn't have wished for better mentors, both in the kitchen and on a personal level," Nathan Eades told Birmingham Live, referring to Luke Tipping and Andreas Antona, chef and founder of Simpsons Restaurant, the Michelin-starred venue where he worked. There, Eades had recently served as the Head Chef before deciding to take over the aged inn with his friend and transition to a more immediate style of cooking.
It didn't take long for The Halfway At Kineton to win over customers and become an attraction and a point of reference even for the most discerning palates. This is evident from the numerous online reviews - almost all with a full score - and also from Prue Leith, a renowned restaurateur, writer, and TV host. "One of the best meals we've had in the Cotswolds"; "I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal with respectable food"; "Sunday lunch was fantastic. A cute and welcoming inn with an excellent menu." These are some of the comments found on the web.
At The Halfway At Kineton, the Sunday Roast is a must-try, featuring dishes like Herefordshire sirloin steak, braised Cornwall lamb shoulder with vegetables at £23, a delicious 24-month-aged Comte cheese soufflé with house salad, and Cotswolds venison and game pie with buttered vegetables. Fish lovers can enjoy Gigha Island halibut, white beans, aged tomato, and chorizo cassoulet. For dessert, options include steamed date pudding with cream, as well as dark chocolate cake with kirsch, whipped mascarpone and cherries.
