Big news from Paris: Alain Ducasse, the world's most acclaimed chef, will oversee the dining experience in the symbol of the French capital, along with a young team of chefs selected from among his disciples.
The news
The intersection of tourist trends and food preferences is certainly not a novelty and has long found its coordinates in major museums, like Enrico Bartolini's Mudec. Now, even the capital of fine cuisine, Paris, catches up, entrusting its most famous museum, the Louvre, to the care of the star chef, Monsieur Alain Ducasse.
The connecting link, as reported by Food&Sens, is the catering and events group MusiamParis, which is already behind establishments like Bistrot Benoît, always at the Louvre, Café Jacques, Les Ombres, the restaurants of the Musée d'Orsay, and La Petite Venise at the Palace of Versailles. "If the multi-starred chef Alain Ducasse continues to be the guarantor of culinary identity, MusiamParis now relies on the expertise and operational excellence of the WSH group, the parent company of a family of leading restaurants established in Europe and for 12 years in France."
It was Ducasse himself who chose the chefs who will oversee the offering: "Congratulations to the MusiamParis teams, who have just been selected to conceive the new culinary experience of an emblematic place in French heritage: the Louvre Museum," he posted on Instagram on December 8. "To write this gastronomic story, we have chosen together a collective of talented chefs from the Ducasse Generation. These men and women embody wonderfully what France does best, a diversity of perspectives and a creative approach capable of reaching every audience: Jessica Préalpato, the world's best pastry chef in 2019, chef Florent Ladeyn, awarded a red and green star, creative bakers Pascal Rigo and Arnaud Chevalier, Franco-Brazilian chef Alessandra Montagne, and chef Durand Vivien, also awarded a red and green star.
We are very happy to take on this new challenge together: extending the history and spirit of this internationally renowned place with an innovative, sustainable, and tailored culinary offering, leveraging essential values such as dialogue, accessibility, hospitality, and French savoir-faire."
