Five Michelin stars were not enough for Eneko Atxa: the great Spanish chef has chosen to focus on high-end street food, with pop sandwiches that can be delivered to your doorstep.
The news
This Basque chef has collected 5 Michelin stars and is now pursuing a new project dedicated to more casual eats. Eneko Atxa has just opened Debokata, a sandwich shop where you can choose and have your street food assembled from gourmet ingredients. The chef of the 3 Starred Azurmendi (one of the most sustainable restaurants in the world) goes out on a limb with an idea that steps outside the scheme of fine dining to stay in touch with that world. His sandwiches are filled only with ingredients of the highest quality, worthy of an award-winning chef like him.

With Debokata, he pays homage to the great classic of Spanish tradition: the bocadillo (a sandwich typical throughout Spain). Each one is stuffed with "a thousand and one" delicacies (see the delicious teriyaki chicken), then topped off with vegetables and sauces and accompanied by a ready-to-drink canned cocktail, soft drink, or craft beer.
Enjoying sandwiches signed by the five-star chef is also convenient, especially for those who get caught with the gluttonous urge to bite into something good but don't feel like leaving the couch. In fact, the food at Debokata, located inside Madrid's Red Radisson hotel, can also be ordered on Just Eat. But how much does it cost, and what's in Eneko Atxa's bocadillo?
@RED RADISSON
Prices range between 12 and 20 euros, and choices include the Moby Dick with smoked eel, anchovies and katsuobushi, the Txuleta wagyu, a burger featuring the famous Japanese meat, plus many other offerings including, of course, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Are you left feeling peckish? Order dessert: between bomba de nata (a thick yeast cake filled with cream and sprinkled with sugar) and Japanese mochi, you are spoiled for choice.
