De Laurentiis: a last name that rings a bell – associated by everyone with the world of cinema, but few know that it is also that of the highest-paid Italian chef in the world. Giada De Laurentiis is part of the international ranking of the 20 richest chefs on the planet. We are talking about a naturalized Italian chef from the United States who has an estimated fortune of $30 million.

Not only the income but especially the popularity gained from her cooking shows were the winning weapons that allowed Giada to build her fortune. The millionaire chef was born in Rome on August 22, 1970, to Veronica De Laurentiis and her first husband, Alex De Benedetti. Initially, she wanted to be a pastry chef, but she gradually specialized in the role of food stylist. In fact, Giada's success began in 2008, when she starred in more than 200 episodes of the program Giada at Home broadcast by Food Network and began to be a regular cast member of Today, a program broadcast by NBC. Giada's world is made up of not only TV but also recipe books, the three restaurants she owns, and the catering company GDL Foods. All these activities and her resourcefulness led her to win the Daytime Emmy Award in the "Outstanding Lifestyle Host" category in 2009 and be inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2012.

But who are the other richest chefs on the planet? The first on the list is also the only billionaire to be included. He is Alan Wong, a pioneer of "Hawaiian fusion cuisine," with an estimated wealth of $1.1 billion. Third place for Jamie Oliver (300 million), fourth for Gordon Ramsay (220 million) and fifth for Nobu Matsuhisa, who has built a sushi empire together with Robert De Niro with an upcoming opening in Rome (200 million). Giada is the only Italian on the list.
