Giorgia Caporuscio is one of the most influential italian pizza makers in the United States. As general manager and executive pizza chef of the acclaimed Don Antonio and Kesté restaurants in New York, she has received numerous awards, including the title of Pizza Maker of the Year 2024 by 50 Top Pizza USA.
Giorgia Caporuscio was born in Terracina (in the province of Latina) to a family with a strong sense of tradition. After graduating from hotel school, she began traveling and learning english; in 2009 she moved to New York, where she began working in the father's activity, the famous pizza maker Roberto Caporuscio. Although she never considered it at first, she decided to prove her skills by defying prejudice and learning the secrets of the trade under her parents' guidance. Through her dedication, she became one of the few to emerge at the international.
In 2012, at the age of 22, she won the prestigious Caputo Cup, becoming the youngest winner of the competition. After this achievement, Giorgia continued to perfect her technique and expand her influence, leading Don Antonio and Kesté to success. Her Montanara, a classic neapolitan deep-fried pizza, became her crowning achievement.
In 2024, she received Pizza Maker of the Year recognition from 50 Top Pizza USA, a major achievement that celebrates her work as an entrepreneur and her ability to overcome pandemic challenges.
In addition to running eateries, she is committed to the advancement of women in the industry and is an active participant in the "Women in Pizza" movement, which helps women achieve leadership positions in the restaurant industry.
