The Biography
Born in 1993 in Cherasco, Cuneo province, Erika Gotta developed a passion for cooking at a young age. After attending the Velso Mucci hospitality institute in Bra, she began her professional career at the restaurant of the Monastero di Cherasco. Here, she honed her skills under the guidance of experienced chefs before moving on to La Ciau del Tornavento, a Michelin-starred restaurant, where she worked as a pastry chef de partie.
In 2018, Erika sought to broaden her professional horizons by moving to Lombardy, where she worked at high-end restaurants like Ristorante Morelli and Pomiroeu. In 2020, she embarked on an innovative project with her sister, founding Italy's first dark kitchen, Delivery Valley. However, 2021 marked a new chapter in her career when she met Barbara Varese, owner of the Country House La Bursch. This encounter provided Erika with the opportunity to return to Piedmont to head the kitchen at La Bursch, where she found her true calling.
In November 2022, Erika received the first major recognition of her career by winning the "Best Under 35 Chef" award at the Food Community Awards 2022. A few months later, in March 2023, La Bursch was officially included in the Identità Golose Guide 2023, further solidifying the excellence of her cuisine. The latest recognition came in June 2023 when Erika was named "Ambasciatrice del Gusto" (Ambassador of Taste), a title that reflects her commitment to promoting Piedmontese cuisine.
