The owner of a club in Ireland has categorically vetoed pajamas and flip-flops in her bar: banning customers who show up in "nighttime" attire unsuitable for public places.

The news

Ciara Burke, the owner of a well-known coffee shop in Duleek, Ireland, has been forced to specify the dress code required to enter her establishment. In fact, the entrepreneur and owner of Stage & Stone has forbidden customers to sit at the café in nightwear: no pajamas and flip-flops for eating morning breakfast.

"A couple of women came in at 9 a.m. wearing fleece pajamas, slippers and robes. They were on vacation and were very nice. It was only the clothing that disturbed me. I don't think it is right for people to go into a bar, shopping, or just come out in their pajamas," Ms. Burke relays.

The decision to ban people in pajamas from her venue, which also consists of a shop with gift items and souvenirs, has divided Irish public opinion. Half approve, and those who, on the other hand, criticized the veto, saying everyone is free to dress as they wish. The fact remains that Ciara Burke does not seem to be willing to retrace her steps: no slippers and pajamas for breakfast at Stage & Stone.
