There's no limit to luxury in the Big Apple, where MICHELIN starred chef Daniel Boulud is preparing to open a steakhouse, market café, and private restaurant inside a newly built luxury high-rise.
The news
The ink is still fresh on the latest contract signed by Daniel Boulud. It involves a pair of openings inside a newly built skyscraper in Flatiron District: specifically a steakhouse and a café with a French-style marketplace, inspired by Parisian en plein air atmospheres, scheduled to open in 2024.

"For me, it's where Midtown ends and downtown begins, where business and pleasure meet," Boulud commented on the new location, which joins the historic 2 Star MICHELIN restaurant Daniel, the MICHELIN starred Le Pavillon, the Japanese Joji, and Le Gratin. "Now that I'm American, I can open a steakhouse," he added, joking about his recently obtained citizenship. "It's something I've always wanted to do, like the Japanese restaurant. The neighborhood doesn't have many steakhouses. There will be a French touch in the preparation of the vegetables. The mix of American and French food and wine is well aligned, the design is spectacular."

The details of the operation are still to be worked out. For now, it is known that the steakhouse will house an open kitchen with Rockwell's signature wood-fired grill, while the marketplace will sell fresh seasonal produce as well as prepared foods. In all, they will cover an area of about 1,500 square meters on the ground floor. But that's not all: tenants of the luxury property will have access to a lounge with food and wine serving, operated under the formula of a private club under the direction of Boulud himself, nor will there be a shortage of event space and catering with the same signature Rockwell furnishings.
