With three locations and the utmost respect for employees, restaurateur Gary Chin wants to give them a free trip to Tenerife.
The news
Those who dine at one of the Sumo Pan Asian restaurants journeys through the flavors of East Asia. But instead, Gary Chin's employees get a relaxing trip to Tenerife. Gary Chin, who began his venture ten years ago by recreating the atmosphere of Bangkok, Hong Kong and Tokyo Street food stalls in East Yorkshire, England, took his 35 staff members on vacation to the famous Canary Island in January. @Hull Live
Since opening his first restaurant on Newland Avenue in Hull, the entrepreneur's project has been widely acclaimed by the public. So much so that there are now three establishments united under the Sumo Pan Asian banner, between Hessle and Beverly. This vacation allows Gary to thank his staff, whom he considers the key to his success and expansion.
"It has been a difficult year for everyone, especially because of the rising cost of living. I want to thank my staff for their work. I am doing what I think is right: right now, the economic situation is not the best. So, I am doing my best to support my employees; I hope they appreciate it." Chin´s initiative immediately went viral, gaining the approval of many members of the food and wine world; however, this is not something new: it is a choice he has been making since the beginning of his career. @Hull Live
"I wanted to bring my guys to Tenerife to take care of them: if staff work hard, it is only fair that they are rewarded. This initiative of mine will also make other restaurateurs realize the importance of teamwork and rewarding staff. Reward them, and you will not regret it."
