Traveling across Europe, with a brief stop in the Bahamas, Lorenza Panzera, named Best Sommelier 2022 by Identità Golose, is a highly talented sommelier.
Born in 1992 in Lecco, Lorenza Panzera developed a passion for gastronomy from her very first taste of a creamy coffee-drenched dessert. She attended a hotel management institute, graduating in 2011. It was here that she discovered her love for wine and subsequently undertook a training program at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London, where she achieved a third-level qualification.
Her professional debut occurred as a commis in Gualtiero Marchesi's dining room in Franciacorta. She then moved to the MICHELIN-Starred “Il Cantuccio ad Erba”, and later took on the role of chef de rang in one of the Novikov group's establishments. In 2004, eager to travel, she accepted a position as a demi chef de rang in the dining rooms of a Disney Cruise Line ship. After seven months, upon returning to her homeland, she worked at the “San Telmo” restaurant in Milan for the first time as a sommelier.
She subsequently relocated to the MICHELIN-Starred “El Molin” in Cavalese, but in less than two years, she switched roles again, spending a few months at the prestigious “Lume” restaurant.
In 2017, she joined the “Four Seasons” in Milan, where she currently works as head sommelier, managing the wine and spirits lists for various venues within the hotel. Between restaurants and bars, Lorenza has a broad and bustling playground where she can fully harness the experience she has amassed over the years. Her approach is inclined towards seeking out lesser-known wines that can still deliver exceptional satisfaction within their category. In 2022, she was awarded the Veuve Clicquot prize for Best Sommelier by the Identità Golose Guide.
