A successful Maître, Alessandro Pipero is the owner of the restaurant "Pipero" in Rome. The restaurant has changed locations multiple times but has maintained its MICHELIN Star since 2012. Alessandro is also the official maître for two dating shows aired on the Italian tv channel Real Time, featuring singles having dinner together for their first date.
Born in Rome in 1974, Alessandro Pipero attended hotel management school, choosing front-of-house over the kitchen, despite always having a love for good food. After graduating, he made his professional debut at the "Hotel St. Regis" in Rome. Later, Antonello Colonna invited him to manage the dining room at his prestigious restaurant in Labico, where Alessandro stayed for six years.
Leveraging the experience he gained from Colonna, Alessandro decided to branch out on his own, opening "Pipero" in Albano Laziale in 2007. In the restaurant's first year of operation, Alessandro was named Italy's Best Sommelier by the renowned L'Espresso guide. In 2011, the restaurant moved to Rome, setting up in the "Hotel Rex" near the Termini train station, and was rebranded as "Pipero al Rex." Success quickly followed: with Luciano Monosilio heading the kitchen brigade, the first of several chefs over the years, the restaurant earned its MICHELIN Star just one year after relocating. The following year, in 2013, Alessandro was awarded the title of Maître of the Year by Identità Golose.
In 2017, Alessandro changed the location once again, this time moving to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of Rome, and reverting to the original restaurant name, "Pipero," while maintaining its MICHELIN Star. Ciro Scamardella, a young and talented chef, is now leading the kitchen. Alessandro's fame has crossed the boundaries of the restaurant world: capturing the hearts of television viewers, he has become the official Maître of the dating show "Primo Appuntamento," set in Restaurant Geco, and "Primo Appuntamento Crociera" on the italian tv channel Real Time.
