Christian Rainer, an experienced Maître, has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. He has collaborated with renowned chefs and sommeliers, earning significant accolades such as the Espresso Award and the title of "Best Dining Room Director" from the MICHELIN Guide. His dedication and authenticity have made him a reference point in the industry.
Christian Rainer was born in 1979 in Merano, South Tyrol. He began his acquaintance with the hospitality industry at a young age, working at the renowned "Goldenes Kreuz" in Schnalstal, his family's hotel. Later, he trained in prestigious hotel establishments in South Tyrol, a region at the forefront of the food and wine field, and gained experience in Germany and France.
His first notable experience was at the "Auberge de l'Ill," with renowned chef Marc Haeberlin and a world champion sommelier. He then moved to the luxurious five-star "Grand Hotel Palace" in Merano. Afterwards, he traveled and honed his skills as a commis, collaborating with renowned sommeliers at starred hotels such as the "Königshof" in Munich.
Regarding his international service experiences, Christian states, "In Italy, hospitality is in our blood, especially in the south. I see it everywhere. In Germany, they are excellent and have grand dining rooms, but it's all a bit cold. In France, they are excellent again, but very formal."
For Christian Rainer, the dining room of a restaurant plays a fundamental role. He says, "For me, the importance of the dining room is often underestimated. A bad experience can be more damaging than bad cuisine. I want customers to have a complete evening that they will remember for years. And many confirm this to me."
Christian has had various experiences as a trainer and consultant in various national competitions for bar and restaurant managers, including the renowned "Emerging Dining Room" competition. He is also involved with the hotel institute in Merano and admires "Intrecci." He identifies with their core values: Class, Character, and Warmth, which translate into elegance, non-intrusive hospitality, and an emphasis on authenticity as the ability to stand out while remaining true to oneself and one's territory.
Christian gained recognition through his talent and managerial skills. Among the notable establishments he has worked at is the Three-MICHELIN-Starred and Green-Starred restaurant "St.Hubertus" in Cassiano, the flagship of the "Hotel Rosa Alpina." This was followed by collaboration with the restaurant "Peter Brunel" in Arco, Trentino.
Thanks to his dedication and professionalism, Christian Rainer received the Espresso Award for excellence in his work in 2020, and the following year he was named "Best Dining Room Director" by the MICHELIN Guide.
