Originally from Asti, Jacopo Dosio earned his sommelier diploma at age 19 and honed his craft in top Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. He is Wine Director at Piazza Duomo in Alba, embracing a wine philosophy rooted in terroir and direct relationships with producers.
Jacopo Dosio began his training at the Academy of Hospitality in Barolo, where he discovered a passion for wine that would shape his career. At just 19 years old, he achieved his official sommelier certification, marking the start of a journey driven by technical excellence and curiosity.
Over the years, he worked in several world-renowned restaurants, including Waterside Inn in Bray, Marc Veyrat in Manigod, Villa Crespi on Lake Orta, and Vue de Monde in Melbourne. These experiences helped shape a refined and globally informed approach to wine service.
He became Wine Director for the Ceretto group at the three-Michelin-starred Piazza Duomo in Alba (ranked 39th in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024). His role includes overseeing the entire wine program—curating the list, managing acquisitions, training the staff, and enhancing the connection between wine and local identity.
His philosophy places a strong emphasis on human relationships and regional heritage: he believes it is essential to "build and maintain long-lasting ties" with local producers, highlighting the authenticity of the Langhe–Monferrato–Roero area.
