Born in 1989 and holding a BSc from the University of Leeds, Tom Mackenzie is General Manager of The Surf Club Restaurant in Miami. Formerly Managing Director of WS New York and opening GM of Manhatta, he is acclaimed for merging British polish with New-York energy.
Mackenzie began as Maître d’Hôtel at The Wolseley under Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, mastering classic British service. He later helped launch The Colony Grill Room and the five-star Beaumont Hotel Mayfair as Front-of-House Manager.
He then managed iconic Caprice Holdings venues J Sheekey and Atlantic Bar, earning a spot on CODE Hospitality’s “30 Under 30” list (2016).
In 2019 he became Managing Director of WS New York and Managing Partner of Happy Crew Hospitality Group, overseeing both the public Tavern by WS brasserie and the private club at Hudson Yards.
Since 2023, he has been the General Manager of The Surf Club Restaurant by Thomas Keller, overseeing the kitchen, wine cellar, and dining room.
