Born in Pisa in 1989, Giorgio Bargiani is Assistant Director of Mixology at the legendary Connaught Bar in London. Crowned International Bartender of the Year 2023 at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, he is one of the most influential voices in contemporary mixology.
Raised among his family’s restaurant and gourmet boutiques in Pisa, Bargiani discovered his passion for hospitality early on. After his first shifts in local cocktail bars, he joined the Connaught Bar in Mayfair in 2014 as a bar-back; under the mentorship of Agostino Perrone, he rose to become Assistant Director of Mixology in fewer than ten years.
Twice ranked No. 1 in the world (World’s 50 Best Bars 2020-2021; now No. 13 in 2024), the Connaught is famed for its tableside Martini trolley. Bargiani refined the ritual, creating bespoke bergamot, myrtle and cardamom essences; the press now hails him as “an architect of tailor-made flavour.”
Over the years, he has received several awards, including International Bartender of the Year 2023 – Spirited Awards, Tales of the Cocktail (New Orleans), and is part of the team that has won the title of Best International Bar Team four times (Spirited Awards 2020), in addition to numerous placements and victories at the World's 50 Best Bars.
He was also included in CODE Hospitality's “30 Under 30” (2019) and awarded #2 Best Italian Bartender Abroad at the Bargiornale Awards.
