Biography

Gabriela Ospina is originally from Panama and developed her passion for wine and gastronomy during her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in San Francisco. After working in various restaurants and furthering her wine knowledge, she moved to Miami, where she became the sommelier at Boia De, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in the Little Haiti neighborhood.

At Boia De, Gabriela is known for her curated and varied wine list, which includes selections of particular and less conventional labels capable of ranging from Arneis, Lambrusco, Vermentino and Viura. Her wine philosophy favors research and often niche wines, creating pairings that enhance the unique flavors of the dishes offered by the restaurant. Gabriela also stands out for her empathetic approach, helping customers discover new wines and enjoy memorable dining experiences.

In 2024, she received the Florida Michelin Guide's Sommelier Award, a recognition that celebrates her talent and dedication to her craft. The guide praised her commitment to telling stories through wine and creating a sense of belonging among Boia De. Gabriela sees wine not only as a beverage, but as a means to connect people and enrich the dining experience.

In addition to her work at the restaurant, she is an active figure in the Miami wine scene, participating in events and conferences. Goals? To continue exploring the world of wine, her true passion.
