The Biography

Born in 1975 in Port Washington, New York, Will Goldfarb's culinary journey began with a shift from law school to the kitchen. He trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris before working in renowned kitchens under chefs like Gerard Mulot in Paris and Fabio Picchi in Florence. However, his true breakthrough came during his time at the legendary El Bulli in Spain with Ferran Adrià, where he embraced the importance of seasonality and experimentation, two influences that would shape his future career.

In 2006, Goldfarb opened Room4Dessert in New York, a tasting menu restaurant exclusively devoted to desserts, which quickly garnered critical acclaim. Despite the initial success, the restaurant closed after two years, leading Goldfarb to relocate to Bali. After a brief stint as executive pastry chef at KU DÉ TA in Seminyak, he finally reopened Room4Dessert in Ubud in 2014. Here, Goldfarb fused local Balinese ingredients into his technically advanced and artistically presented desserts, creating a unique experience that blends taste, aesthetics, and sustainability.

Goldfarb is recognized for his commitment to sustainability and his use of local ingredients, many of which are sourced from his own 3,000-square-meter farm in Ubud. Over time, Room4Dessert and Goldfarb have become internationally recognized institutions, earning awards such as the title of "World’s Best Pastry Chef" in 2021. His appearance on Netflix’s Chef's Table: Pastry further cemented his global fame, bringing worldwide attention to his restaurant and his pioneering approach to pastry.
