MICHELIN Guide Italy 2026: the new Bib Gourmands
- Ahead of the launch of the 71st edition of the MICHELIN Guide Italy, which will take place in Parma on November 19, Michelin has revealed the names of the new Bib Gourmand restaurants.
- The MICHELIN Guide Italy 2026 features 24 new Bib Gourmands, bringing the total number of restaurants to 255.
The Bib Gourmand, or the smiling face of the Michelin Man licking his lips, is the pictogram that indicates a restaurant offering a pleasant dining experience, with a full menu at excellent value for money. The aim of the team of inspectors is to discover new Bib Gourmands in every corner of Italy, from large cities to small, hidden towns. In fact, speaking of discoveries, 15 of the 24 new additions for 2026 are restaurants selected and included in the MICHELIN Guide during the year and which now receive the Bib Gourmand distinction.

Value for money is certainly an essential factor in the selection process, but the high quality of the cuisine and the passion for food that creates the atmosphere of Bib Gourmand restaurants remain a priority. Here, you can enjoy recipes that are often inspired by tradition, but there is no shortage of modern offerings. "This new selection tells stories of authentic cuisine and great personality. In Norcia, Granaro Al Monte returns with its ever-lit grill and a menu deeply rooted in the local area. In Salerno, Al Bistrot di Pescheria showcases humble fish with fresh, elegant, and sometimes surprising preparations. Osteria dello Sport, in Casale Monferrato, looks like something out of a movie: the menu combines local roots with a touch of the sea. In Livorno, at Azzighe – Osteria a Metà, tradition and modernity come together in dishes such as cappelletti “cacciucchino,” a creative homage to the famous soup. Finally, a few steps from the Teatro Regio in Parma—which will host the presentation of the MICHELIN Guide Italy 2026—Brisla Trattoria offers straightforward, welcoming cuisine, where culatello, tagliolini, and rabbit alla cacciatora are must-try dishes.
Sergio Lovrinovich, Director of the MICHELIN Guide Italy

The announcement of the new Bib Gourmands is, as usual, a preview of the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Italy, whose 71st edition will be held on November 19 at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
During this event, eagerly awaited by all industry professionals and enthusiasts – and which will be broadcast live on Michelin's Facebook and YouTube channels – the 2026 selection for Italy will be unveiled. We will discover all the new Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as those that will join the Green Star community, the winners of the MICHELIN Special Awards – created to celebrate the diversity of professions in the restaurant industry – and the restaurants that will receive the Passion Dessert award, created to reward the high quality of the experiences offered to customers through desserts.
