New hot topic on social media: controversy engulfs a chef and his four-legged friend. A well-known Spanish account that often highlights hospitality issues reports on the affair.
The News
Usually it is diners with four-legged friends who inquire whether or not the restaurant where they wish to eat is pet friendly and can consequently accommodate their pets; the choice, in fact, is left to the mere discretion of the owners, if it is of course possible to bring dogs or cats along. In the past few weeks, however, at one Spanish restaurant the frittata, or rather the tortilla, has literally been turned upside down.

Reporting the story, @soycamarero, the Spanish account (with profiles on all social networks and a large following) champion of hospitality industry professionals. Indeed, his profile featured a review by a group of customers who complained that they had dined at a restaurant where a dog - owned by the chef, among other things - was present without first being warned. “There is no notice and it is not written or advertised anywhere that the establishment in question is pet friendly: we don't like to dine with animals next to us," the review reported, as the online magazine La Vanguardia also recounts.

Similar to all circumstances in which @soycamarero highlights the more or less original (and controversial) comments of diners, the web immediately rose up. Most users sided with the restaurateur opposed to the grievances raised by the group, and what went viral was the chef's response to the accusations he received... the owner, in fact, certainly didn't mince words. In addition to emphasizing the uniqueness of the matter and relegating the presence of the faithful pooch to an isolated incident due to the weather conditions outside, the man replied, “The reality is that we have too many people like you dining in our restaurant”, leaving no room for argument (translated, better dogs than guests!).

Although most hailed the response of the restaurant team, there were also those who gave their shoulder to the diners, noting the possibility that they were allergic people and that the incident could have caused health problems.
