"If you already smell it, it's because we're 'cooking' something together with Dabiz Muñoz": that's how Netflix announces the new series starring Spain's most irreverent three Michelin-starred chef.
The news
It's official: Dabiz Muñoz will have his series on Netflix. The famous American platform announced it through social networks, sharing on its Instagram account an image of the iconic hairstyle profile of the chef, accompanied by the following phrase: "If you already smell it, it's because we're cooking something with Dabiz Muñoz." Hence, a powerful mix is already simmering, as emphasized also by the elespanol.com headline.
The news, it must be said, could not have come at a better time for the Madrid star chef, who was recently named the best in the world for the third time at The Best Chef Awards held in Mérida (Mexico). The scoop was confirmed the day after by Muñoz himself through his Instagram profile, riding on the culinary metaphor of the streaming platform. "We are preparing together with Netflix the most brutal, creative, overwhelming, and surprising documentary ever made," the protagonist specified.
Unfortunately, no spoilers about the content of the new series, but one thing seems certain: it will address unprecedented and "mind-bending" themes (or at least, that's what the irreverent chef of DiverXO promises). "We are convinced that it will leave you speechless," he adds. The goal is to immerse viewers in the kitchen (and life) of one of the most emblematic figures in the Spanish gastronomic scene, with three Michelin stars and a biography full of insights. Therefore, it is not only about delving into Muñoz's professional sphere but also his most intimate and personal side.
The format is produced by Welink Studios and directed by Juanjo López, a member of the creative team of Informe Robinson, co-founder of La Caña Brothers and The Tintirin Teamo. At the moment, there is no exact premiere date, but it is known that it will be in 2024. Fun-fact? Despite the great anticipation it is generating, this future reality documentary show is not the first to be made about Dabiz Muñoz. Already in January 2016, the Cuatro channel premiered El Xef, a two-season documentary that portrayed his life as a chef in his restaurants DiverXO and StreetXO.
"Discover a cyber-futuristic, bold, and different cuisine from the conventional one," is the main character's slogan. While waiting to enjoy the novelty on Netflix, you can always review this latest biographical gem, available in full on the Prime Video platform.
