Self-taught and born in Adrogué, Carola Santoro opened Ti Amo with her sister Victoria in 2019. In few years the pizzeria climbed to No. 40 on 50 Top Pizza World 2024 and No. 2 in 50 Top Pizza Latin America 2025, making her a leading voice among Argentina’s women pizzaioli.
Growing up on the southern edge of Buenos Aires, Carola Santoro came from a family of fire and flour: her grandfather ran a parrilla, her mother Susana still manages the dining room. After a decade in fashion retail, she and Victoria began experimenting with dough in their back-garden oven in 2018.
December 2019 saw the birth of Ti Amo—a wood-fired contemporary Neapolitan pizzeria with gingham tablecloths and a mantra of “fewer ingredients, higher quality.” Pies bake at 440 °C for 90 seconds and feature pared-down toppings such as local fior di latte and San Marzano-style tomatoes.
Awards arrived quickly: One to Watch Award 2022 from 50 Top Pizza , No. 38 in the World 2023 , No. 40 in the World 2024 and 2nd place (highest in Argentina) in Latin America 2025 —cementing Ti Amo as a South-American reference point.
Signature items include the heart-shaped pizza, first created for the “Corazón de Burrata” and now available year-round, embodying the sisters’ playful hospitality.
In 2023 Carola opened La Sorellina in Colegiales, a no-reservation wine bar with a Neapolitan oven aimed at a late-night crowd.
Committed to informal education, she hosts workshops on fermentation control, temperature management and gender inclusion in a still male-dominated sector, while staging exchange visits with Italian colleagues.
