Between Sapori Italiani – U Taliana and Da Andrea in Bratislava, Andrea Ena shapes a Neapolitan-leaning pizza language with a personal thread that also runs through Sardinia. In 2025 he placed 9th in 50 Top Pizza Europe and received Pizza Maker of the Year 2025 – Ferrarelle Award.
Born in Decimoputzu, in southern Sardinia, he started early in hospitality outside the island: in 1994 he moved to Lake Garda (Limone sul Garda), working alongside his brother and moving through the most hands-on roles—dishwashing, kitchen support—before settling into the pizza station.
The turning point came with Slovakia. After meeting a Slovak woman, he chose to relocate; in 2003 he opened his first place—small, straightforward—then gradually built a business that now revolves around two addresses in Bratislava.
The first is Sapori Italiani – U Taliana (Krížna 39), conceived as an all-day format that blends pizzeria and restaurant with a deli/bottega dimension: breakfast service, breadmaking and a selection of Italian products sit alongside a menu where pizza remains the centerpiece, in dialogue with the kitchen.
The second, Da Andrea (Majakovského 9, Horský Park area), expands the hospitality side with larger spaces and a more restaurant-led setup, in a green, residential neighborhood.
His technical signature—also described by the sector guide—rests on dough management, baking precision and ingredient selection, with a narrative that links the grammar of Neapolitan pizza to memories and cues from Sardinian food culture. It isn’t an abstract claim: in an interview he explained that he returns to Sardinia several times a year and drives back with ingredients and flavors that feed his everyday work.
There’s also a clearly personal note in the way he frames his path: growth as the sum of apprenticeship and responsibility. “I only had many dreams and the desire to work,” he recalls when speaking about his first years away from home, before finding stability in Bratislava and leading a sizeable team.
Recent accolades map his international positioning. Sapori Italiani – U Taliana ranked 9th in 50 Top Pizza Europe 2025 and 59th in 50 Top Pizza World 2025; Ena also received Pizza Maker of the Year 2025 – Ferrarelle Award, a prize instituted by 50 Top Pizza.
On the restaurant side, Da Andrea entered the “50 Best Italian Restaurants in the World 2026” list (rank 50), a recognition curated by 50 Top Italy.
