Vincenzo Palermo is a master pizza chef from Apulia, internationally renowned for his skills. His career has been marked by experience in various cities around the world, where he has promoted Italian gastronomic culture and won prestigious awards in the field.
Originally from Castellana Grotte in Apulia, Vincenzo Palermo developed a passion for the art of baking at an early age, inspired by family tradition and the influence of his grandmother, an expert in bread and focaccia baking. After attending the commercial technical institute, he decided to follow his vocation and work at weekends. He also attended a specialised school to improve his skills and consolidate the foundations of his future career.
In 2014, Vincenzo seized the opportunity to work at Eataly, the famous gastronomic format created by Oscar Farinetti. He started at the Roma Ostiense location before moving to the Russian capital, Moscow, in 2015. Here he managed the pizzeria, which was included in the list of the 50 best pizzerias in Europe, in 23rd place. He introduced genuine Neapolitan cuisine to a new market and contributed to the spread of Italian gastronomic culture abroad.
In 2018, Vincenzo took part in the World Pizza Championship in Parma, in the Neapolitan Pizza STG category, achieving the highest score ever recorded in the competition since 1992. This achievement consolidated his reputation as one of the best at international level.
After various experiences, Palermo returned to Italy, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and techniques. He is currently the master pizza maker at Più Sud, located in the picturesque Sasso Caveoso area of Matera. Here he offers signature pizzas that celebrate the excellence of the south.
