Irina Steccanella is an italian chef who has reinterpreted traditional emilian cuisine in a contemporary way. Her career has been marked by training in renowned restaurants and running her own establishments, culminating in the opening of her trattoria in Savigno.
Born on March 16, 1979 in Sassuolo (MO), after attending the Bartolomeo Scappi Hotelier Institute in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO), Irina Steccanella began working in various establishments in Bologna and its province, honing her culinary skills.
From 2010 to 2015 she was chef and owner of the Osteria Vini d'Italia. In 2015, she completed an internship at Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana, where she immersed herself in the technique. The following year, at Niko Romito's Reale restaurant, she learned the art of simplicity and the search for balance in flavors, lessons she took home with her. Later she worked with Giuseppe Palmieri, pesso Generi Alimentari Da Panino in Modena.
After two years at the head of the kitchen at the Agriturismo Mastrosasso, she opened her trattoria Irina in Savigno (BO) in 2019. Here she offers traditional cuisine, reworked in a modern key, with strong roots linked to the territory. Among her specialties are the light and digestible tortellini in broth, a symbol of a respectful yet innovative reinterpretation.
With the same care and attention that characterizes her dishes, she creates pizzas that combine technique, lightness and authenticity. Her proposals are characterized by highly digestible doughs and combinations that celebrate Emilia, giving a personal touch to a timeless classic.
