Sven Wassmer is internationally renowned for his contemporary alpine cuisine. He is at the helm of the restaurant Memories at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz received its third Michelin star in 2022, making him one of the best chefs of his generation.
Born in 1986 in the heart of the swiss Alps, Sven Wassmer has been fascinated by the mountains around him since childhood and has drawn inspiration for his career from them. After completing his training, he honed his style in top eateries, working with the celebrated Andreas Caminada at Schloss Schauenstein. This experience allowed him to shape a cuisine based on purity of taste and quality ingredients.
In 2015, 7132 Silver in Vals was awarded two Michelin stars and 18 Gault Millau points, the place where his original vision took shape. In 2019, he began a new chapter with the opening of Memories at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, offering alpine and contemporary cuisine that quickly attracted critical attention. The award of a third Michelin star in 2022, followed by the Green Star, was the culmination of a unique and rigorous journey, a moment that elevated the restaurant to a sustainable gastronomic temple.
Celebrating seasonality, ecosystem and harmony of flavors through raw, indigenous materials and traditionally inspired techniques, he creates dishes that tell the story of centuries-old landscapes, herbaceous scents and vibrant colors.
In addition, Wassmer has explored and shared his creative universe through the book "My Alpine Cuisine" (2022) and has forged partnerships as an ambassador for luxury brands such as Audemars Piguet, Mercedes-Benz and Oona Caviar, raising his international profile. He is married to Amanda Wassmer-Bulgin, a talented sommelier and Master of Wine candidate, with whom he has two sons, Ezra and Elijah.
