With an innovative approach to Indian cuisine, Saini has led Trèsind Studio to earn two Michelin stars and numerous international accolades, becoming renowned for his ability to reinterpret traditional flavors using modern techniques and artistic presentations.
The Biography
Himanshu Saini was born in New Delhi, India, and began his culinary journey after completing his studies at the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology. He worked in some of the finest restaurants in Delhi, honing his craft under the mentorship of Manish Mehrotra at Indian Accent, a restaurant internationally recognized for its groundbreaking approach to Indian cuisine.
Saini's move to the United Arab Emirates marked a significant turning point in his career. Initially collaborating with the Passion F&B group, he helped launch several acclaimed restaurants, including Masala Library and Farzi Cafe. However, it was Trèsind, launched in 2014 in Dubai, where Saini began to truly define his culinary identity. Trèsind introduced Dubai to a revolutionary approach to Indian gastronomy, combining traditional ingredients with cutting-edge techniques.
In 2018, Saini took his work to new heights by opening Trèsind Studio, an intimate dining experience with only 20 seats. Here, he crafts a seasonal tasting menu focused on creatively reimagining Indian cuisine through modern techniques and a refined, artistic aesthetic. Saini’s innovative approach earned Trèsind Studio its first Michelin star in 2022, followed by a second in 2023, making the restaurant one of the top culinary destinations in the Middle East.
In 2023, Trèsind Studio earned a spot on the global 50 Best Restaurants list, and in 2024, it climbed to 13th place. The restaurant also achieved the second spot in the Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2024, solidifying its international reputation.
