The Biography
Born on March 14, 1969, in Corfu, Ettore Botrini has a rich cultural heritage, being the son of a Greek mother and an Italian father. Influenced by his father's passion for cooking, he studied Tourism Management at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. After working in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Spain alongside chefs like Martín Berasategui, Botrini returned to Greece to manage the family restaurant, Etrusco, in Corfu, which has repeatedly been named the best restaurant in Greece.
In 2011, Botrini opened Botrini's in Athens, located in a former elementary school transformed into a contemporary restaurant. The venue offers a comfortable and modern ambiance, with a menu celebrating Greek culinary tradition with an innovative twist. Thanks to his focus on the quality of ingredients and creative presentation of dishes, the restaurant earned a Michelin star in 2014 and has maintained it ever since.
Botrini's restaurant has also received international recognition, being cited in The World's 50 Best Restaurants Discovery. Chef Botrini was named the "most influential chef of the decade 2011-2020" by the FNL Guide and won numerous awards, including recognition from Athinorama in 2023 as the "most influential chef in Greece." Botrini is a prominent figure in the Greek culinary scene, appearing in various television programs, including the Greek version of "Kitchen Nightmares."
