Lisa Goodwin-Allen, an emblematic figure in British cuisine, embarked on her culinary journey at Lancaster & Morecambe College, an experience that taught her the essential basics of cooking and offered her a first glimpse into the restaurant business. Her passion and dedication allowed her to work alongside renowned chefs, accumulating significant experiences, especially at Le Champignon Sauvage under the guidance of David Everitt-Matthias, where she refined her culinary philosophy focused on the total use of ingredients.
Quickly earning the role of executive head chef at Northcote, Lisa distinguished herself not only by maintaining the restaurant's Michelin star but also by winning numerous awards. Among these, the victory as Chef of the Year 2008 at the Northern Hospitality Awards and the Restaurant Chef of the Year 2011 award from the Craft Guild of Chefs stand out. She also secured a judge's position in the NHS and workers' Christmas special of the Great British Menu, winning three of the six courses of the final banquet, an unprecedented achievement in the series.
