Born in Solna, Stockholm, in 1977, Björn Frantzén boasts an extraordinary career that has made him one of the most influential chefs in Nordic cuisine. His passion for food—initially inspired by the memory of a memorable steak served with french fries and béarnaise sauce—led him on a unique culinary journey, culminating in critical acclaim.
Biography
Frantzén began his career as a chef at Edsbacka Krog, then explored other prestigious kitchens, including Chez Nico's, Dining Lettonie, Pied a Terre, and L'Arpege.
In 2008, he opened Frantzén/Lindeberg, later renamed simply Frantzén, a restaurant that received its first Michelin star in 2009 and its second in 2010. Beyond his passion for cooking, Frantzén is known for his charitable commitment: each year, he organizes a dinner with some of Europe's most renowned chefs in support of the Swedish Foundation for Pediatric Diabetes.
Frantzén has solidified his impact on the global gastronomic landscape by opening establishments in various parts of the world, including Zén in Singapore, which received its third Michelin star in 2021. He also opened Brasserie Astoria in Singapore in 2021, in addition to several other restaurants in Stockholm and Asia.
