Vasco Coelho Santos is a prominent figure in the Portuguese and international culinary scene. With experience garnered in Europe and Asia under renowned chefs, Vasco has successfully opened a series of restaurants, including the MICHELIN-Starred "Euskalduna Studio."
Vasco Coelho Santos was born in Vila Nova de Gaia in 1988. While pursuing a management course at the Catholic University, he realized that his true passion lay in cooking rather than numbers. Consequently, in 2008, he relocated from Porto to Lisbon to work at "Atelier de Cozinha MICHELIN." Simultaneously, he collaborated with Chef Olivier at the restaurant "Olivier Avenida." He later completed an internship at "Tavares Rico" under José Avillez, the first Portuguese chef to earn Two MICHELIN Stars.
In 2010, Vasco moved to Spain, working in restaurants like "Mugaritz," "Arzak," and "ElBulli," learning from chefs like Aduriz, Arzak, and Adrià, accumulating experience for his career. In 2013, he joined Pedro Lemos' team, where he remained for two years. Subsequently, he embarked on a journey through Europe and Asia, working at establishments such as "Viajante" in London and “2am: Dessert Bar” in Singapore.
Upon returning to Porto, he launched "Euskaluna," specializing in organizing events and private dinners, while also participating in conferences, show cookings, and workshops. In 2015, he founded "BaixóPito," a chicken house that introduced a new way of cooking chicken in Porto. In 2016, he launched "Euskalduna Studio," which earned a MICHELIN Star in 2022.
In 2017, he inaugurated "Semea di Euskalduna" and later "Ogi," a natural fermentation bakery and pastry shop, as well as the fishmonger "Peixaria by Euskalduna."
In 2023, Vasco received the Chef of the Year award from Guia Boa Cama Boa Mesa, solidifying his status as a significant figure in Portuguese gastronomy, and his restaurants have been recognized both in Portugal and abroad.
