A social media sensation and award-winning pastry chef, originally from France but now based in the USA; Las Vegas serves as the hub for his pastry shops and academy. Amaury Guichon is now widely recognized as the Chocolate King.
Biography
Amaury Guichon was born on March 15, 1991, near Geneva to a Swiss mother and a French father. In 2005, at the age of 14, he moved to France where he began studying culinary arts at Thonon-les-Baines hotel school. Here, he discovered his true passion and later earned a pastry diploma from Wolsberg College. During his studies, he won the first prize in the Chocolate Showpiece Apprentice Competition.
Afterward, he joined "Maison Lenotre" pastry shop in Paris, where in 2010, he was recognized as one of the best young pastry chefs in the Parisian region by the MOF (Meilleures Ouvriers de France) organization. The following year, he moved to Cannes to manage a branch of "Lenotre," where he conducted classes for amateurs and mentored five apprentices. During the same period, he won the prestigious pastry competition "Les Delices de la Mediterranee."
In 2012, he returned to Paris to become the executive chef of "Hugo & Victor" in all three of its Paris locations.
In 2013, he achieved third place in the television talent show "Qui sera le prochain Grand Patissier," gaining fame not only with the public but also with industry professionals. During the program, he met Christophe Michalak, who introduced him to the Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie team. This opportunity led him to Las Vegas, where he began working at the luxury hotels "Bellagio" and "Aria."
In 2017, Amaury started his own venture by establishing "MGA," a pastry academy in Las Vegas, where he teaches classes to approximately twenty students per course. He also launched an e-commerce service, "Sweet Shop," selling pastry products and equipment.
In 2018, he became a lecturer at Eccelsa Institute, and in 2020, he married Fiona Bergson, a tattoo artist. The following year, he hosted "The Chocolate School" on Netflix. Amaury is now globally renowned, thanks to his strong presence on social media, boasting 13 million followers on Instagram.
