A warm welcome awaits guests, who will feel right at home thanks to the flavors and wonders that only Italy can offer: at Portait, you can enjoy modeghili and riso al salto (fried rice) followed by spaghettata di mezzanotte (midnight spaghetti) and a breakfast accompanied by the rhythms of the moka coffee pot. All this is complemented by themed evenings featuring boiled meats and drinks to sip on the outdoor porch.
The name is 10_11, but call it “Ten Eleven”—after all, we are in Italy's only international city, Milan, and inside the Hotel Portrait, which has joined the Rome and Florence hotels of the prestigious Lungarno Collection owned by the Ferragamo family. In the heart of Milan's fashion district, where elegance meets history and hospitality becomes art, stands the 10_11 Bar, Garden, Restaurant.

A name that refers to the addresses Via Sant'Andrea 10 and Corso Venezia 11, but which is actually much more: it is the symbolic crossroads of the city's souls, the meeting point between privacy and openness, between history and modernity. Inside the imposing former Archiepiscopal Seminary, now Portrait Milano, lies a place of beauty and pleasure. 10_11 is not simply a restaurant or bar, but an expression of great Italian hospitality, from the aesthetics created by architect Michele Bonan to the ever-changing cuisine.

What's new at Portrait Milano on November 10-11
The menu at 10_11 is a tribute to Italian cuisine, with its aromas of home and family Sundays. Recognizable dishes, simple but full of flavor, that tell local stories: mondeghili, pasta in bianco (which everyone has heard so much about), risotto with ossobuco ragù in gremolada, vitello tonnato, and spaghetti with tomato sauce. A menu that speaks of memories and ingredients, with a special section dedicated to desserts; six iconic Salvatore Ferragamo shoe models were celebrated, to which Pastry Chef Cesare Murzilli paid homage by creating six special cakes, edible works of art.

Chef Luigi Cinotti's culinary offerings speak volumes about Lombard tradition. Many have tried to replicate it, but not always with the same level of authenticity and quality.

Among the dishes to try, there is definitely “La mia idea di pasta in bianco” (My idea of pasta in bianco) by former chef Alberto Quadrio, a sophisticated reinterpretation of a classic comfort food, prepared with egg white fusilli and semolina in Parmigiano broth, veal with tuna sauce, pappa al pomodoro, and Italian-style amberjack ceviche. There is a fun and extensive selection of appetizers to share, followed by a first course and (usually snubbed in restaurants) grilled chicken with potatoes and peppers, which Head of Dining Service Simone Bisin assures us is worth trying.

At the helm of this young team is Bisin, attentive and precise. With experience in England and Orlando, at the age of 24 he was already director of the Quattro Mori restaurant in Milan before moving on to Charleston. He has been involved in the 10_11 project for three years. “Our aim is to recreate the feeling of home through the attention that all the staff try to give to guests. I use the word ‘guest’ a lot rather than ‘customer,’” he explains.

Experience the hotel: from special menus to gastronomic events
Each season brings with it new edible ideas, without ever losing sight of balance and lightness, as demonstrated by the offerings designed for The Longevity SPA: recipes with a balanced intake of fiber, protein, and carbohydrates, ideal for a good meal after a treatment or before an afternoon of wellness in the adjacent spa.

10_11 is also about rituals: the offer allows hotel guests and non-guests alike to experience those daily rituals that we Italians love so much and that make visitors fall in love with the Bel Paese: from the moka coffee pot bubbling away at breakfast, served with class on the terrace overlooking the garden (awarded “Best Breakfast in Italy 2024” at the Best Luxury Hotel Awards) to the midnight spaghetti "garlic, oil and chilli"; theme evenings dedicated to great classics such as bollito misto (mixed boiled meats) or bistecca alla fiorentina (Florentine steak) are moments of pure enjoyment (dates to mark in your diary for these convivial gatherings, which feature big names in gastronomy in a casual dining setting, May 24 and 25, when breakfast and afternoon snack at 10_11 will be enriched by the creations of Antonio Bachour, World Best Pastry Chef in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and Pastry Innovator in 2024).

And if it is true that appearance matters, then the Portrait is also a pleasure to linger in for a few hours, between the portico, the garden, the bookshops, the rooms with round tables, and the cocktail bars. 10_11 Bar, Garden, Restaurant is not just a gastronomic stop, it is an urban experience worth living. For a leisurely weekend breakfast, a quick business lunch, afternoon tea, or a drink at one of the two welcoming nine-meter-long counters (ask for the Biffi cocktail bar).

A place to discover, experience, and rediscover, different every day but always faithful to its mission: to make every guest feel at home, with the taste and wonder that only Italy can offer.
