The news
Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse Bar and Grill - on Westquay Road - offers a new menu that, according to the famous chef, is a way to make his place inclusive and catering to all tastes. This means that those who already follow a vegan diet or those who want to approach a protein-free and animal product-free diet for the first time will have many more choices when booking a table there.
The new menu will now be available all year round and not just in January (traditional and now well-known "Veganuary"), as reported by the Daily Echo. After witnessing an increase in vegan and vegetarian dishes served in recent years, the decision to keep a fixed menu comes at a time when more and more people are changing their eating habits to prefer exclusively plant-based ingredients. The vegan menu also includes plant-based meat from the pioneering food company "Redefine Meat TM," and Marco Pierre White's restaurant is currently the only venue in the area to offer this revolutionary new product.
According to the chain's website, starters include focaccia crostini with Provencal tomatoes and aromatic herbs; roasted tomato soup with basil and focaccia crostini; red beet and walnut salad with endive and merlot sauce, and fried zucchini with rosemary sea salt. Among the mains, there is an interesting choice including beef ragout (Redefine Meat TM) bolognese with potato gnocchi and basil; chickpea and spinach curry with basmati rice; steak (Redefine Meat TM) à la forestière with wilted spinach, wild mushrooms, extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, and roasted beans with tomato sauce and herb crust.
For those who wish to end the meal with a good dessert, the dessert options include apple crumble topped with muesli with green apple sorbet; almond rice pudding with vanilla poached apricots; poached seasonal fruit with sparkling wine and a selection of vegan ice creams or sorbets. Marco Pierre White stated, "In my restaurant, there is room for all types of menus, and the addition of the vegan one responds to the ever-growing demand from customers. This does not mean that we are compromising on the other menus; we are simply offering a wider choice regarding vegan options."
"The world needs to eat less meat, but the reality is that until now, plant-based meat products have not lived up to the quality and versatility required for our menus," he concludes. It seems that the turning point has finally arrived.
