Sven Elverfeld is an internationally acclaimed German chef known for his innovative cuisine that blends the traditional with the modern. Since 2000, he has headed the Aqua restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton in Wolfsburg, Germany, which has been awarded three Michelin stars under his leadership.

Born in Hanau, Germany in 1968, Elverfeld began his career as a pastry chef. This early approach to gastronomy gave him a focus on precision and technique, qualities that are still reflected in his dishes today. After training as a chef, he worked in such renowned restaurants as the Gutsschänke Schloss Johannisberg and Humperdinck in Frankfurt, honing his knowledge of German and French cuisine.

His ambition led him to travel between Japan, Crete and Dubai, where he mastered new ingredients and developed an increasingly personal style. In 1998, he took over the management of La Baie at The Ritz-Carlton in Dubai, marking the first step in his long association with the hotel group.

In 2000, Sven was chosen to head up Aqua in Wolfsburg, Germany, an establishment that over the years has become synonymous with fine and innovative cuisine. The first Michelin star came in 2002, followed by the second in 2006 and finally the third in 2009, which Aqua has held continuously for more than a decade.

Elverfeld's philosophy is based on the enhancement of German tradition, reinterpreted with a modern twist. In his creations, raw materials such as game, river fish and seasonal vegetables are combined with sophisticated methods to create unexpected but always balanced combinations. The experience gained abroad is reflected in the use of spices, fermentations and international influences that enrich the cuisine without altering its essence.

In addition to its three Michelin stars, Aqua has been awarded 19.5 out of 20 points by the Gault&Millau guide and has been named one of the 50 best restaurants in the world by The World's 50 Best Restaurants. Elverfeld has been named Best Chef of the Year multiple times, an accolade that confirms his talent and impact on the culinary scene.

With more than 20 years at the helm of Aqua, Sven Elverfeld is now one of Europe's most respected chefs. His goal? To create dishes that tell stories, evoke memories and stir emotions.
