Salvatore Lioniello is known for inventing the “different neapolitan" pizza, characterized by a light dough and a soft, honeycombed crust. Founder of the Da Lioniello pizzeria in Succivo and a location in Milan, he has won numerous international awards.

Salvatore Lioniello was born on July 28, 1987 in Orta di Atella, near Caserta. His passion developed at a young age while working in the family restaurant. After various experiences, in 2014 he participated in the World Pizza Championship and won with "My Dad", composed of traditional products such as sausage and eggplant parmigiana, dedicated to his father figure. This event marked the beginning of his professional career.

For his "different neapolitan", he uses a pre-dough (biga) that is left to rise for a long time to obtain a well-baked dough. The result? A fluffy, highly digestible cloud that sets him apart in the contemporary scene. The choice of ingredients is essential in his work; in fact, he chooses the raw materials carefully and thoughtfully, often from Campania. 

In 2022, the pizzeria Da Lioniello in Succivo reaches 49th place in the ranking of the 50 Top Pizza World and 25th in Italy. In 2024, thanks to the constant quality of its offer, it climbs even higher, reaching 21st place worldwide and 10th place in Italy. With the opening of the new restaurant in Milan, it quickly conquers the lombard public, offering an iconic repertoire; on the menu we find the "Cosacca - Back to the Past" and the "Wheel of Cart", which are unfailing.
