A young talent of Italian cuisine: Valerio Braschi, the winner of the sixth edition of Masterchef, continues to achieve successes, including the title of Young Person of the Year for La guida de L’Espresso 2021.
Born in 1997 and raised in Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna, Valerio Braschi developed a passion for cooking amid his grandmother's tagliatelle and lasagne, sealed by an adventurous encounter with an immersion blender at the age of 3 that left him with a scar on his upper lip.
After middle school, he enrolled in a scientific high school, but the call of the kitchen was too strong to be ignored. Thus, in 2017, he entered and then won the sixth edition of Masterchef Italy. After the triumph, he moved to the hotel institute, and his dream of working with Bruno Barbieri, expressed during the show, materialized as he assumed the role of chef de partie at “Fourghetti”. In 2018, Valerio served as the Italian Ambassador in New Delhi during the Italian Cuisine Week in the World organized by the Italian Embassy.
He then moved to Rome, taking on the role of executive chef at "Ristorante 1978," fully expressing his creativity. His innovations, such as lasagna in a tube and drinkable carbonara, caused a stir in 2021, the same year "Ristorante 1978" earned the Travellers’ Choice award from Tripadvisor and the Recommendation badge from Restaurant Guru; also in 2021, young Braschi was named Young Person of the Year for La guida de L’Espresso. But that’s not all, in 2022 the restaurant received Two Forks in the Guide to Italian Restaurants, the special Future Tradition award from Gambero Rosso in collaboration with Moet&Chandon, and was included in the prestigious MICHELIN Guide, while Valerio was honored, for the second consecutive time, with two hats for La guida de L’Espresso.
Valerio now plans to open his own restaurant in Milan, and everyone is looking forward to discovering “Vibe”.
