Born in Germany to Dutch parents, Christiaan Stoop began his culinary journey at an early age and showed an early passion for cooking. His career has taken him to some of the most prestigious restaurants in Europe and the world, including Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck and L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon between Dubai and Paris. These experiences have shaped him into a chef capable of combining technical precision and creativity, with a constant eye for detail and quality ingredients.
In 2022, Christiaan Stoop was appointed Executive Chef of Taian Table's two restaurants in Shanghai and Guangzhou. His approach is based on a constant search for balance between flavors and textures, with dishes that reflect his international experience, integrating elements of French, Asian and Northern European cuisine.
Thanks to his innovative cuisine and ability to curate every detail of the dining experience, Taian Table in Guangzhou was awarded two Michelin stars in 2024, solidifying Stoop's position as one of the most influential emerging chefs on the international scene. The restaurant has become a must-visit destination for foodies from around the world, drawn to his artistic approach and use of local and seasonal ingredients reinterpreted with cutting-edge techniques. The other restaurant has three stars and the Green Star for sustainability.
