Nancy Großmann has conquered the world of wine thanks to her years of experience at Rutz, a three-Michelin-star restaurant in Berlin. Named Sommelier of the Year 2021 by Gault & Millau, she continues to make her mark on the german gastronomic scene.
Nancy Großmann was born in Berlin and began her career in the wine world at the renowned Weinladen Schmidt. After honing her skills at several prestigious establishments such as Dallmayr in Munich and the Käfer Dachgarten at the Bundestag, she made a name for herself through her professionalism.
In 2018, she joined the team at Rutz, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Marco Müller. During her seven years as head sommelier, she developed one of the german capital's most respected charters and contributed to the restaurant's international success. Her work earned her numerous awards, including Sommelière of the Year from Gault & Millau in 2021 and first place in the list of the 50 Best Sommeliers at the Rolling Pin Awards in 2023.
In september 2024, she decided to take on a new challenge by joining the team at the prestigious Grill Royal. There, together with Nikolaus Laurentius, she is helping to curate a catalogue of more than 2,300 labels, with a focus on small, little-known but talented european producers.
