For October 31, the great chef pulls an alternative recipe out of his hat: the drink is served directly into the carved pumpkin. Choose your favorite version and try your hand at the feat!

Ingredients
Recipe 1- The Kraken
- 37.5 ml cinnamon-infused vodka
- 25 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 25 ml of sake syrup
- ¼ teaspoon squid ink
Garnish
2 lychee-filled cherries - 1 on the bottom of the glass and the other on the rim.
Glass
- Martini glass
- Gourd stripped of pulp and hollowed out into which to insert drink
Add all cocktail ingredients to martini glass and shake with ice.
Strain through a strainer and insert into pumpkin. Repeat until filled.
Add optional dry ice for a “smoky” effect.
Use a ladle to serve the drink in martini glasses, making sure the dry ice does not get into the glass.
Recipe 2- Smashing Pumpkin
Ingredients
- 20 ml fresh lemon
- 8 mint leaves
- 25 ml homemade pumpkin syrup
- 40 ml Monkey Shoulder
- Dry ice
Carve a small pumpkin by removing the pulp.
Combine lemon, mint, pumpkin syrup and whiskey.
Add crushed ice.
Stir all ingredients a couple of times.
Garnish with a sprig of mint.
Finish with a dry ice capsule in the chillistick and stir.
