Her passion led her to study and her determination to work in high-level restaurants and wine shops. Marta Passaseo, the sommelier at Cristiano Tomei's "L’Imbuto," won the title of Best Sommelier from the Identità Golose Guide in 2021.
Born in 1991 in Puglia, Marta Passaseo grew up surrounded by the wines of local farmers. As a child, she aspired to be a reader and decided to move to Bologna to study French literature, philology, and linguistics.
While working at the "restaurant 051" in Bologna, she met maître Michel Fant, who introduced her to various wine tastings. These experiences were the genesis of her journey into the art of wine. After a year of Erasmus in Brussels, she moved to Turin, working in various establishments including "Société Lutèce," "Banco Vini e Alimenti," "Gaudenzio," "Scannabue," and "Enoteca Botz."
Then, with her desire to continue studying, she moved to the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo to join the Master in Wine Culture and Communication. During this time, she completed an internship at the Cook_inc. editorial office in Lucca.
Thanks to this opportunity, Marta met Cristiano Tomei from "L’Imbuto," who offered her a job. There, she showcased her skill and curiosity for wine, becoming both maître and sommelier. It was her exceptional work in Lucca that earned her the title of Best Sommelier from the Identità Golose Guide in 2021.
Marta has always preferred to deepen her understanding of wine by drinking it and personally getting to know the producers and sellers. While she has a strong preference for natural wines, she is open to discovering treasures in any category. This philosophy is reflected in the diverse and comprehensive wine list at "L’Imbuto."
